Pardanthopsis dichotoma

We finally got around to propagating a decent batch of this beautiful Irid. Exotic purplish flowers borne on branching scapes with falls larger than the standards, ivory spotted and striped maroon at the base, flecked purple in the center with the claw striped purple. They open rapidly in the late afternoon, so quickly that you can actually watch them unfurl, although they generally seem to wait until your back is turned; once pollinated the petals twist together into a cool little rope, several open each day for many weeks in mid to late summer.____ZONE 4
