Zizia aptera

Yellow flowers in attractive umbels held on 3 foot stems. Basal leaves are large, glossy, and round, while those on the flower spikes are divided. Like most umbels, the flowers are a bonanaza for all sorts of small, beautiful bees and wasps, and the foliage is good feed for Black swallowtails butterflies. Well worth growing for both you and native insects. Zone 4.
